Following his two recent releases, “Hiraeth” and “The Owl Of Minerva”, Interstitia’s newest single “Banner Of Light” eschews the tranquility of the former and the warped new age noise of the latter in favor of something more frenetic and insistent. Though some of the characteristic elements of Interstitia’s previous work such as distorted techno polyrhythms and gauzy synth loops are still present, the track possesses a borderline industrial aggression bolstered by shredded vocal samples and a tense, futuristic ambience. While darker and more intense than any previous Interstitia work, “Banner Of Light” acts less as an outlier and more as another side of an already multifaceted whole.
